This State Park campground is beautiful. It is an awesome location in a valley on the banks of the beautiful Housatonic River. The campground is broken down in to two sections with the " Riverside " section being the best. The upper area is also nice but away from the river slightly. The river along the campground has some of the best catch and release only fly fishing in the Northeast. Some real big trout have been netted here. The area is also a mecca for some great hiking. The Appalacian trail runs behind the campground and is easily accessed via a short walk from the campground. Not a whole lot for small children to do at the campground but all the roads are paved so bring their bikes, scooters etc. Being a state park, there are no hookups for RV's but water is available and they have hot showers and flush toilets. Check it out, especially if you want a great fishing experiance. A CT fishing license is needed. Two wonderful fly shops are located along the route to the campground. Enjoy!
