One of the best camp grounds (KOA or any other)that we have ever stayed in. Lots to see and pleanty to keep our 8 yr. old grand daughter busy. Lots of special stuff for kids. Staff was great and the facilities were clean and well kept.

If you ever travel between Myrtle Beach and the Outer Banks, make it a point to stop at the New Bern, NC KOA. New Bern is a great little historic city (Pepsi was invented here) and the KOA has been completely redone. You'll find sites right on the water; it's exceptionally clean; they have live entertainment on the weekends; a well-stocked store; and very helpful, friendly staff. We stumbled onto it on our way back home this past winter. I could move there in a heartbeat.

Well we took the popup out on its maiden voyage last weekend to New Bern KOA in NC, and had a blast. Not having much experience in the way of rating campgrounds, you can take this with a grain of salt... It is a small park with a nice playground, decent camp store, nice looking pool (still closed), and clean bath facilities. It was nice, because we could see the kids out of the camper no matter where they were in the park. There is also a life-size chess board that my 9 year old (who will soon be crushing me) had a blast playing. The staff is very friendly. The park is located right on the Neuse River, and they are in the process of building a large pier/boat slip there. They will be having kayak/canoe rentals when finished. The best part of the park (for us) was a small, stocked fishing pond right in the middle. All of my kids caught at least 2 fish, and my son landed a huge catfish (they like hot dogs alot!). If you have smaller children, this is a nice, quiet, secluded park to make a weekend out of. We will be going back.
