Nice wooded sites with paved roads and pad. The park is near town but feels private and quiet. There is a locked security gate at night. There are many hiking and bicycle trails, interpretive center, and restaurant on site. Deer are seen in the campground. Fishing boats can be rented to use on the small lake. Each site has a fire pit, table, and trash can with daily pick-up.

We just returned from a wonderful weekend at this park. The sites were well shaded and had plenty of room. The bathrooms were clean. There are two campgrounds to choose from. Campground 1 is on the Shoals River (creek). This is great if you want to wade and play in the water. We chose Campground 2 because we have really young children and did not want the stress of the creek at our back door. We stayed in site #87 I think. It was great with lots of woods behind us. There were a lot of different kinds of wildlife (ie turkey, deer, raccoons, frogs DS favorite). There is a fishing lake that looked great but we did not fish. Unfortunately you cannot bring in your own boat. There is one bike trail and several hiking trails. The kids enjoyed the interpretive programs, too. This is one of our "new" favorites.
