We picked this KOA simple for location, halfway between Charleston and Savannah. This is a small KOA located in a wooded area with very little grass mostly a sandy open area not much for physical beauty. The spot we stayed on was big enough for slide outs and still room to have a little personal space unlike some other KOA’s. The bathhouse was aged in need of modernizing in my opinion. Not much for the children to do other than ride bikes around the campground. However, they do have a lake that was shared with another campground but not sure if there was any fish in there. We spend several hours fishing with no bites. Read several reviews on this KOA before we arrived that really scarred us. There was some bad experiences with KOA noted on the internet so we were terrified when we first arrived. However, this is not that bad we have stayed at worse. When we arrived it was pouring rain so setup was completed in the rain. The area is sandy so there was some muck not much mud because it was sandy. The cable is pretty good with more than basic channels to view and the workers are friendly. We stayed here 5 days and we noticed there were very few long term campers it was mostly overnight stays. It would empty in the mornings and fill up by dark. Overall this is not that bad of KOA, but is probably more of a short term stop not a place for long stays.

We truly enjoyed the Point South KOA. The campground is very convenient for I-95 travelers. This is an established, peaceful campground with lots of southern charm and helpful, friendly staff. RV sites are level and shady. We especially enjoyed that the sites are staggered front to back which gives you and your neighbor quite a bit of space and privacy - very nice! Also, Point South KOA offers a variety of freshly brewed coffee, wine tasting events in the evening and fresh baked pizza and/or wings delivered right to your campsite - fun! We stayed in a motor-home and will definitely stay again.

Called day of stay to ask about availability and rates. Told the lady I spoke with the size of our travel trailer and that we only needed pull through 30 amp site close to the restrooms. She said there were plenty of sites available and quoted a rate for a water and electric site, and that there would be a site map marked with the available sites. Told I could select the site and pay in the morning. We arrived 20 minutes after closing, chose a 30 amp site close to the rest room (as discussed and marked on the campground map). The site was not very level, leaving our trailer slightly higher in the front and leaning to the left. Since it was late, we decided to stay in the spot and go to sleep. We did not use the shower because the restroom was not that clean. Noticed that the jacuzzi was not clean and the pool furniture was old. The campsite was dirt . . . no gravel or pavement. Not very appealing. When we stopped at the office to pay, we were charged more than double. While never once looking us in the eye, the man checking us out suggested that we called another campground and just had the wrong rate. Interesting that the KOA Point South telephone number was on my cell from when I said I called. We drove out of our way to arrive at this campground based on the description in the KOA directory. Too bad I did not read the reviews on this website first. My family will never stay at this campground in the future. I have stayed at many KOA campgrounds and never had something like this occur. I will contact the president of KOA and will share my experience with others.

This place is OK for what it is: a stop right off of I-95 to sleep. Overall , the facilities looked old and not well-kept. The site were small but easy to get into. Not much to do around there, and only a few restaurants. But if you are traveling the eastern seaboard and need somewhere to spend the night, this will do.

We stayed at Point South in SC. We arrived to a Kaboose filled with Palmetto (giant roaches). The air didn't work and the unit was roasting. We had read that the facility has a microwave and nightly movies for kids. All of that was untrue. The pool's rope was held together with duct tape. It kept breaking and the management said that meant the pool would have to close. We spoke to management, they said to leave if we want. Obviously, they did not care.

A convenient stop over right off I-95...nothing special and not cheap...they serve great pizza and have a hot tub...several places to eat just outside the cg....little difficult to find the first time as it is behind several motels...not bad for an overnight.

54 sites: 54 W, 20 S, 54 E(30/50 amps). Restrooms and showers, dump station, public phone, laundry, groceries, ltd RV supplies, LP gas, pond, freshwater fishing, pool, spa, horseshoes, game room, playground. Fairly easy to get into, however there are several very large potholes on the roads leading into the CG. Very nice CG, lots of trees. These folks were great. Lots of info and help offered. Everything in good shape. Maintenance people constantly evident.
