We have now been full-timing in a motorhome for 7 years and have been considering our favourite places. Certainly Charleston is high on our list and we expect to make many more visits there in coming years. We always stay at Lake Aire RV Park and will do so in the future. The park has always been a comfortable place to stay with friendly and accommodating staff. Lake Aire is well worth a visit and we cannot recommend it highly enough.

Not quiet unless you think trains with air horns blasting through the night is quiet. Pretty landscape best for families with children. Not so great for someone looking for a natural camp experience.

Beautiful campground away from road noise. Very senic with trees, lake and ducks and very clean. Pool, fishing and play equipment for children. The staff couldn't be more accomodating to our needs. Its location close to Charleston and beaches made it very convenient to tour the area. Will definately recommed RV Park to our friends and would definately stay again if in the area.

After reading some other reviews about this park, we were not quite sure what to expect; however, this is what we found. Actually, this is a lovely campground in a wooded area near Charleston. It was quiet & convenient for visiting local gardens and Charleston. The staff was friendly and the grounds well kept. The bathhouse and pool were clean and well maintained. The laundry was clean and machines appeared to be new. The discount rate for Passport America was as advertised, and we took the option to upgrade for a sewer site since we were there for several weeks. There was plenty of room for our three slide-outs and awning. A picnic table was provided. There was an occasional train (about 1/4 mile away) but it did not bother us as they passed quickly and we understand by law they have to sound their horn at crossings. We only heard one during the early morning hours. Apparently the condition of the lake is dependent on the amount of rain the area receives. It did have fish and there were nvenient benches to sit on. Because Charleston is in what is known as South Carolina "low country," if there is a heavy rain, drainage can be a problem. Downtown Charleston has this problem too, but after the rains stopped most sites were clear in a few hours. Heavy RVs on gravel roads can quickly cause potholes after the rain, but we saw maintenance trying to keep up by adding more gravel. If the roads were paved, drainage would likely be even more of a problem. As long as people observed the 10MPH speed limit, the roads were not a problem. We travel in a motorhome and tow a car. We would definitely stay here again. The conditions and atmosphere at this campground are what camping is all about.

100 W, 19 S, 100 E (20/30 amps).
Restrooms & showers, dump station, public phone, laundry, lake, freshwater fishing, pool, playground..
Interior roads were badly pot-holed. With PPA they only offer water & electric sites, no sewer.Train tracks nearby, trains ran regularly all night long. Park was pretty. Lots of trees and a lake, however the train passing nearby on a regular basis deterred from the natural beauty.
Office employees were very friendly.
Laundry and restrooms were clean and fairly well maintained.
