This campground is a quiet, friendly campground. It is NOT the place to come and party. They have many rules but those rule actually make for a nice camping experience. Our kids always felt safe riding their bikes (no speeding cars here). Our site felt secure (no rowdy drunk neighbors) and everything was nice and clean. The bathrooms are small but clean. The showers are pay showers but again, for 25 cents you get 3 minutes of HIGH PRESSURE hot water. No complaints at all with that. The location is great. So I repeat - do not come here to party with your buddies for the weekend. DO come here to quietly camp with your family.

This campground is beautiful. Well maintained, close to the beach, and had nice and clean bathrooms, but this does not make up for the fact I will never stay here again. The owners of the campground were HORRIBLE! Worst campground owners we've ever met, and we've been to hundreds of campgrounds over the years. First off, as soon as we get there, we are told that our kids are not allowed to play on the playground unless we're standing on the playground with them, even though our campsite borders the playground by a matter of feet with no trees in the way - perfect view no matter where they are on the playground. Second, we got site 75, and they wanted us to park our camper almost on top of an existing seasonal site (literally about 6 feet away, so we moved our camper to the other side of our site, and the owners came over yelling at us to move our camper to the pad, and not to woory about the other site, as they've already overstayed they're welcome. I was pretty much in scock when she said this to me, but it wasn't the last - I also got yelled at by the owner for driving too fast when I pulled into the entrance to the campground - which by the way is on a highway(US Route 1), so the speed limit is like 55. I got yelled at for walking with bare feet back from the pool area through the arcade. I also go yelled at when I went in to ask if we could have some friends join us for lunch - 'NO WEEKEND GUESTS! I GAVE YOU A LIST OF CAMPGROUND RULES WHEN YOU CHECKED IN, READ IT!' The owner said to me - Yup shocked again! Overall, I was so sick of getting yelled at, I actually wanted to leave early on the last day, which turned out to be the nicest day, so my wife talked me into spending a couple of hours at the pool before we left - Ratings : Grounds and Maintenance: 5 Bathrooms: 4 Pool: 4 Camp Store: 2 Owners: 0

I have been a seasonal going on 8 years and we love it there, the rules are strict but the worry of my grandchildren getting run over is not there and I am able to enjoy myself without all the rowdy party goers at other parks.

Tidewater Campground is minutes from the beach and located close to restaurants, drugstores, etc. My fiance and I camped here for 3 nights and had a great stay. The strict rules regarding driving speed did not affect our stay in anyway. They actually made for a very peaceful, relaxing camping experience. This is NOT the campground for teenagers or anyone looking to party. It is a VERY family/child friendly atmosphere. The bathrooms are also very clean and equipped with electrical outlets, and the showers are private stalls, which was great for me, as I am not exactly the "camping type". We are already planning to stay at Tidewater again this summer!

200 spaces. 70 full hookups (30/50 amps). Restrooms and showers ($), security gate, ltd groceries, playground, recreation hall, swimming pool (in season), dump station. Picnic tables and fireplaces at each site. They have a large number of very high speed bumps leading into the campground. No laundry. Having to put down a $10 deposit on the gate card. If you call ahead for reservations they will only take them if they are for 3 days or more. Where the park is located on US 1 makes it difficult to get in and out. US 1 splits just N of the park. Consequently US 1 in front of the park is only SB. You have to cut across traffic to get to a cut-through to go North. The entrance to the campground had posts next to the gate that were placed very close making entry a bit difficult. The section we stayed in was quite beautiful. However, since a number of the trees were Oak trees we were serenaded with the sounds of falling acorns constantly. The gal that ran the office was not a bit friendly. Although the showers and restrooms were clean, they were obviously old and poorly maintained.
