Thanks for all the help you guys gave. This is a beautiful park and the trees are amazing. I can stay in the "country" but be so close to DC. Keep it up.

Very level campsites with terrain inbetween hilly. Loved the many birds and wildlife, though in the midst of urban area. Highway noise though not a problem. Plenty of restaurants nearby. Staff very helpful. We are very glad to find a campsite so close to highway in Washington DC area.

Owner and staff very helpful. Waited til after closing as we were stuck in traffic. We came to see Mount Vernon, and staff recommended we see Marine Corps Museum. Planning on stopping back in springtime. Park is very clean.

Owner is rude. He scared my child. He has a very hot temper. Saw him fly off the handle and chasing other campers. Beware.

No shuttles or tuours offered. Parking at metro was difficult. Getting there late morning you may end up in the mall parking lot as the metro lot will be full. There is a shuttle that runs from the mall lot to the metro station.

City water, SATV, restrooms and showers, dump station, public phone, laundry, groceries, ltd RV supplies, LP gas, firewood, heated pool, horseshoes, rec hall, game room, planned activities, playground. Shuttle bus service to: the Smithsonian Institution and Guided Tours to: Washington D.C. (regularly during the tourist season-depends on number going on off-season). Sign was set back off the roadway and is very easy to miss. They had someone lead us in. However, the roads were not well marked and it would have been difficult to find our site without help. Really gorgeous park if you like lots of tall pine trees (and we do). The people were friendly enough but didn't always follow through with things. When we first came in, we noticed that our Amp meter showed there was a polarity on the line. Bob said something to the office personnel who promised to fix it the next day. Well, it rained the next day, but nothing was ever done about the problem. The cleanliness of the campground was exceptional. I don't think I ever saw an employee that wasn't working. The laundry room and the showers were very clean.
