This was a caravan park for those coming or going to the Kenai Pennisula. As a result there was constant traffic in and out. People seldom stayed for more than a day or two. Excellent to get into. Very easy to get out of. Inner roads were well-maintained. I had some mixed feelings on the interior of the park. The front was well manicured grass and flowers, and around the sites the grass was left to grow long with lots of breeding grounds for mosquitos and other critters. The first day we came in we saw a young Moose wandering through the campground. We were told it is rather unusual at this time of year. Employees were all very helpful and friendly. Restrooms, showers, and laundry were clean and well maintained. Almost across the street is the Alaska Native Heritage Center. This features dances and crafts of the various cultures that make up the Alaska First Nation. There are several fine museums in town. One that we stopped to see was the Song of the Wolves. They did a fine job. There is also a State Troopers Museum almost next door. There is a Botanical Garden in town that features many of the plants that are growing in the Anchorage area. There are any number of excellent restaurants in town. One that I particularly liked for the atmosphere as well as the food was the Sourdough Mining Co, located at 5200 Juneau St, just outside of downtown. Be sure and stop across the street at the Alaska Wild Berry Products and see the world's largest chocolate fountain. (lots of free samples). The Greek Corner (302 W. Fireweed) doesn't look like much on the outside but their Greek dishes were great. You have to be sure and get to Twennie's Old Alaskan Restaurant. Another restaurant with great atmosphere and wonderful food.
