The best PP in Ontario by far. Wonderful trails. Wonderful visitor centre. Lots of wildlife, and almost guaranteed to see a moose. Also enjoyed the lodge dinners along Highway 60 (Bartlet; Arowhon; Kearney). Magical car camping experiences every time. But avoid long weekends.

Always something to do at Algonquin. So many hiking trails both marked and unmarked. Evening programs and organized hikes are lead by very informative and entertaining staff! Noise has never been a problem for me at Algonquin. I have been to this park over 50 times in the past 12 years. I have never been disapointed. Bugs can be bad at times but that is part of being outdoors. A definite park to enjoy over and over!

Great site especially if you have your own canoe since the site offers a great private launching spot. beautiful lake, quiet, secluded site, couldn't see nieghbours. Heard lots of loons, owls at night. Saw moose from our site as well as raccoons, rabbits, chipmunks and tonnes of fire-flys.. Amazing time.. Only tip is to buy firewood in Huntsville as the wood prices in the park are ridiculous for what you get.. I recommend James Bradley in Huntsville for firewood.. Look him up, he sells wood by the pile instead of by the bag, highly recommended if you want a nice fire for less.

Stayed at Lake of 2 Rivers during the Aug long weekend. Very Busy, most of the sites at 2 rivers dont have much privacy, but we lucked out with a large site backing onto the river. Great trails for walking and biking. Lots of wildlife, friendly staff a great trip!

Stayed in Mew Lake Campground. Pros: Algonquin is great, any time of year! Visitor's Centre was open. Dump station opened the day we got there, which was earlier than planned Cons: Well, we did have to shovel snow off our site! No water supply for trailer fill-ups so had to take water from the laundry room at the comfort station. Some people drive far to fast down the main road that runs along the waterfront campsites and don't stop to think there are kids playing in the area. My new signs may help that next time.

Stayed in Pog Lake Campground. Pros: Nice lake, great bike trails, excellent visitor centre and excellent logging museum, wildlife Cons: Radio noise, little privacy in electric sites (canopy of trees quite high up, with little undergrowth), all washrooms not open, water kept going off, what security patrols?
