I love this place. I really enjoy it here. The layout. I dont care about full timers or golf carts. They dont bother me. Room for the kids to play. My thing on this place is this. My uncle bought into a years rental to be a full timer. They said we have 2 spots left. He choose his spot. Paid in full. 2 weeks later they call and said we are gonna move you to the other spot cause we want to put a longer camper in that spot. Thats total bull. What type of management is this. I cant believe they run a business this way. But if you a weekend place this is a nice place.

This campground has a family-friendly atmosphere with clean bath houses. (Always important to me.) The owner is present and runs a tight ship. The grounds are well maintained and the roads are great. We have been camping here for over a year and love it! Lots of activities to keep the kids busy. The ladies who run the office are always friendly. Earlier reviews seem outdated to me. The only drawback is that the spaces are a little close together, but you can reserve some of the better sites with more room.

We really liked this campgound. My children loved the putt-putt course and playground. The site was shaded and the bath house was clean. I do have to agree that their are too many golf carts and they traffic in the afternoon is bad. However my children played close to the campsite (we were on the creek)so it was safe for them. We will go back but we like site 53 better.

This was my first experience camping with my 6 year old son. We chose this facility because of all the extra activities at the resort. The resort itself was very nice and although it was a holiday and the park was full, we encountered no problems what so ever. This was a very memorable experience for my family, and we will be going back as soon as possible. Overall, I would definately recommend this park to anyone with children that will be camping anywhere the Hiawassee area. We were very pleased.

I camped at Bald Mtn. to be with my family that like to camp there. However, I would not choose this camp ground as a favorite place to camp. I don't think the ladies in the office are very friendly. I went to do my laundry and the machines would all be full, locals in the area would be using them. Things closed up way to early in the summertime also. It was really hot in the day time and you couldn't swim or anything at night. The golf carts was everywhere. I think they belonged to regular campers and they just ran around everywhere on them. The lake I thought was dirty. The bath rooms was clean and I really did appreciate that. We do not believe in drinking and I noticed that the owners sold alcohol. I do disagree with the persons that said it looked like a trailer park I thought the green tops was neat and clean looking....

noisey vehicles on the main road and golf carts everywhere. camp was over filled. a lot of tents and several on one site. i think it was bike week the last time i stayed. i love the campground it is so pretty. however it has potential to be a much better place to visit. i stayed in the fall one time last year and the school bus would wake us up every morning.a local school would practice football in the afternoon in the middle of the park.

My husband and I have camped in this campground on a weekend basic and now as a seasonal camper. When we decided to look for a place to seasonally camp in the North Georgia mountains, we checked out many campgrounds and found Bald Mountain Camping Resort to be the best. The resort has camping areas to accommodate all types of camping from tents to the big motor homes and rental cabins--for the weekend campers to the seasonal campers. The sites are diversified in location from wooded areas, along beautiful mountain creeks, and in open areas. The recreation activites are plenty for all ages, and the new owners are always seeking ways to enhance everyone's stay. They have made many renovations. The facilities are neat and clean and the bathhouses are the best I've seen!!! Yes, there are seasonal campers in this resort, but they are not detrimental to a person camping experience. Even the most elite camping resorts in Florida have "seasonal" campers. As a camper for many years, in many differt states and Canada, and in many different types of camping equipment to our current 40' fifth wheel, I would have to say that Bald Mountain Campground is the place to come and visit for yourself. Number #1 for us.

I have to agree with the other review. Mostly perm. residents with lots of aluminum covers and decks. They are trying to make improvements. Beautiful property. The other thing we didn't like was the busy road that went through the campground. There is a neighborhood on the back side of the campground and they didn't obey the 15 mph speed limits. Kids were not safe riding their bicycles like at other campgrounds.

They call it a resort but it's more like a trailer park. Lots of full-timers in run down trailers with metal canopies over them. The owners were very nice however and have plans to improve the park. They are the reason I give it a 3. The park could be greatly improved if they placed all the full-timers in one area of the park instead of being scattered all over the place.
