We stayed in the Jigger Johnson Campground. There are no hookups but the sites are large and wooded. Pay showers are located near the entrance. It's located along the very scenic Kancamagus Highway in the beautiful White Mountains. Plenty of things to check out in Conway and North Conway. Mt Washington is not too far away.

Stayed in Russell Pond campground. We picked Russell Pond because it was just minutes from our destination, Loon Mt. Highland Games. Russell Pond is a National Forest campground therefore you can not make reservation in advance (first come, first served) We had someone arrive early Friday morning to get us a site. Most of the sites were tent site, however some were RV without hook ups. The campground was located in the heart of the White Mts. of NH. just minutes from Interstate and 93 and Route 3, minutes from from many of the White Mts. Attractions. Russell Pond was a very clean and peaceful campground with a crystal clean pond for canoeing and fish. Remember the quarters ($2.00 for a 5 minute hot shower.) Rates are very reasonable @$16.00 for 4 Adults and 4 Children.

Stayed in Waterville Valley Campground. On a cold autumn night with temperatures in the 30's, it might have been a little too cold to camp. However, we had this pretty Nat'l Forest campground all too ourselves with a pitch black sky and all the stars you could imagine through the trees. The Mad River rushed alongside the campground and made for a gentle sound to fall asleep to. In the morning, the pretty autumn setting shows why this was well worth the trip off the beaten path at this time of the year.
