It seemed a bit pricey to me. The sites were standard and the amenities were well maintained. I would go back for the fishing alone. My buddy and I spent two hours walking around the lake fishing and we must have caught 75-100 LM Bass and a few Catfish and Bluegill. Overall we had a nice stay.

We arrived later on a Friday night. The man in the office found us a site though the park was nearly full. We have a pop-up camper and were put in a rather nice grassy spot. The showers and bathrooms were spacious and very clean. The lakes were beautiful and we had a quiet and peacefull three nights of rest. We would go back again. All of the campers around us were very friendly too. Pleasant!

We arrived late and the staff was friendly and accomodating. We were traveling with friends and a total of 6 children between us, the oldest one 7 years old. This campground seemed to be more mature crowd than our gang - not many kids were camping besides ours - and I got the feeling we were annoying to the people around us. But it was hard to maintain our distance because campsites are parkinglot style on gravel and very close together. They do have trees, firepits, and picnic tables. Despite the small gravel campsites and our excited and annoying gang of kids, we had a very nice time. Campsites are located between two pretty lakes and the grounds are beautifully maintained. The Lake was really nice - very clean sandy beach and the water even smelled clean. There are picnic tables at the beach, boats to rent, and grills to cook lunch while you enjoy the water. All 6 kids and 4 adults thoroughly enjoyed our day. There were lots of people fishing so I gather the fishing is good, though we didn't fish so I can't say for sure. The bathrooms/showers were FABULOUS - they were spotless, modern and spacious. By far the nicest campground bathrooms I've ever seen in my travels. You have to give a $10 refundable deposit for shower key but I can appreciate that considering how nice they are. Nearby racetrack and quaint stores, restaurants and movie theater right around the corner along with mall and chainstores offer lots of things to entertain if the weather isn't hot enough to swim. Very close tot he University and a good place to stay if you're visiting someone. Sites are reasonably priced. I certainly would not hesitate to stay there again if there was something that we wanted to do in Sycamore, but we probably wouldn't go just for the campground only because of the campsites.

We arrived with our travel trailer on a Tuesday night and planned to stay through the weekend. After a quick look around, we decided not to stay. The place is basically two gravel parking lots and the sites are on top of each other. No space and no privacy. Unfortunately their website is pretty basic and has no photos of the camping area, only the 2 lakes on the property. Now we know why. The lakes are nice, but the camping area leaves much to be desired.

No really a ideal location, but if traveling not a bad place to park your unit for the night. Just North of the town, and close to some grain storage buildings. it is O.K for that quick stop overnight.

Not sure if I would make a specific trip to this park, but I had a meeting at Northern Illinois University and it was convenient. Some sites are shaded, some are not, but all have full hookups including telephone. They do charge for hot showers (metered). Did enjoy walks around the fishing lakes each evening. Many people seemed to be catching.
