This is the third or fourth stay at Clabough's. Each time has been great. I have tried to post reviews before but for some reason they did not post. Has everything we need and more. Always clean and as said before the trees are nice. Location couldn't be better. Our first choice for the area.We will go back.

My husband and I love to camp at Clabough's. We have stayed here many times since about 2002 and especially love the D2 or D3 sites. We have also stayed in one of the vacation homes with our son and his family and thoroughly enjoyed our time together. When we want to go camping in Pigeon Forge we also stay at Clabough's even though we have a KOA membership and could stay there cheaper. We love the accessability and the quietness of Clabough's and yet are close enough to the action in Pigeon Forge if we care to venture out. In the summer when the place is packed in the summer, the hot water in the bathrooms sometimes runs out, but we adjust and go at less peak times to take a shower. It more than makes up for the bathroom shortcomings to know that we will always be greeted excitedly and with much courtesy. We love our stays at Clabough's. It is one place that I can just throw out a lawn chair and relax without a worry in the world. We love, love, love Clabough's.

We stay here often. I like it because it is off the main drag, it is on Wears Valley Rd which I take into the Smoky's. I always seem to stay in Pigeon Forge during some car/bike/social event that fills the town and streets with too many people. I have gottent o know the back roads, you know, the ones that the locals will not tell you about! I like the back section, along the creek. The kids love to feed the ducks so we always take 'bird bread' that we buy at the bread thrift store before we leave home. Yes, the campground is older, but I have not had a problem, we drive a class A motor home and I do not need the camp ground facilities.

We also stayed on D116! Our campsite was very small. It was just big enough for our truck camper to pull in and not overhang into roads. The bathhouse part of the old main building left a little to be desired. I had the drain not work in one shower and no water knob on another. The staff was friendly, but not knowledgeable about local attractions. It was nice having a trolley stop, but is on a spur rout and did not come around very often. This is a nice park and not to pricey, if you have a bigger rig they give you more space for the same money.

Our site had a view of the river and ducks every where. Quiet and clean. Laundry a bit old. Our bath house, the old office, didn't seem to have AC to me. Many times it was very steamy hot. Lots of shade and very cool. Friendly campers and staff.

This is a campground that was recommended by some online camping friends. However, we had never met those friends (and still haven't, at the time of this writing). We usually camp at Little River Village Campground (LRVC) when we camp in this area, but it is quite a drive, though very pretty, to Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. We decided we wanted to camp in the Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge area, so that the shopping and shows were more accessible for this trip. After getting a good recommendation, I made reservations on faith for 5 nights. We arrived late one Thursday evening, after driving in rain for nearly 250 miles. Tired and very wet, we were blessed by the rain stopping just long enough for us to set up. Too tired to cook, we decided to go out to eat, and did. We returned and went straight to bed. The first thing we noticed was the road noise. Granted, we were on C3 (see map for location), and because of that, we could hear lots of traffic. At night, it was pretty quiet, with frequent, but regular traffic. We were always too tired to care about the traffic. It is just noted here for the purpose of review. We did walk/ride bikes to the back of the campground, and noticed that this part of the campground was MUCH quieter. The creek sites in the back areas were further from the creek, i.e., the banks were taller and steeper. But if all you want to do is fish, the sites should do just fine. Section A of the campground has mostly pull-thru sites, but have some grass, unlike many/most of the creek sites. However, all sites in the campground have pretty good tree cover for shade. Section B has a few available sites for rental, but this section is, by and large, seasonal sites. I am usually turned off by the seasonals, but most of these were clean and well-kept. An occasional outside fridge, extra trinkets around, and one or two older trailers were acceptable. Section D was very similar to Section A, with some creek sites, several pull-thrus, and several regular back-in type sites. There were three bathhouses, and we checked out two of them. They were reasonably clean. I guess I would describe them as much better than most state parks, but not as clean as LRVC keeps theirs. Sorry, but it seems that LRVC is the standard by which we compare everything else. The bathrooms/showers themselves were fine, except room temperature was a little on the cool side. Whatever money they saved by turning the heat down to minimum, they lost because I turned on the shower to hot only, while I shaved, to help heat the bathroom. :) Other than that, I have no complaints about the bathrooms. At the central bathhouse, it was formerly their registration office and market, but that had been moved to the Exxon Store at the main road. (The camp store is one of the largest we have seen, with lots of camper items, a good deli, and lots of grocery items. Firewood also available.) At this central location, there was a laundry with about four washers, and about eight dryers. There was also an arcade, and a small covered pavilion attached as well. One of the most unusual things about this campground were the ducks. The ducks had no qualms about walking right up to you and looking around for food. There were several ducks, some with very pretty plumage. We had the pleasure of watching a mother-to-be duck sit on her eggs the whole time we were there. At the time of this writing, I am sitting in the camper, still at Clabough's. We hope to see the little ducklings hatch before we leave. Location: This is one of the campground's best attributes. It is at Light 3 in Pigeon Forge, on Wears Valley Road. So, you are smack dab in the middle of Sevierville, Pigeon Forge, and Gatlinburg, and Wears Valley Road takes you to Townsend, should you choose to do so. We also didn't cook our first meal until the fourth day, as we chose to eat out while we were out shopping/doing activities. Summary: We liked the campground, and we will likely return, but we will ask for sites toward the back, away from the road. I don't remember the price, but it was very reasonable, considering EVERY site has full hookups (water/electric/SEWER/CABLE).
