Fair Haven Beach State Park must be one of the most popular parks in NY state. The park is on Lake Ontario and offers swimming with beautiful beach access as well as a nice concession stand nearby. Our family has been coming here for the last 7 years and we've already booked our RV site for next season. We have camped in both the Lakeside area as well as the Bluff area. The Bluff is popular due to the electric sites that are available for RV'ers. If you don't mind not having electric though, check out Lakeside - it's like being in your own private park with great views of the lake! In addition, the park is next to a nice marina and inlet to Lake Ontario and is a haven for fisherman. The park also offers paddle boats, canoes, kayaks, etc. that you can take on the pond which connects to a neighboring river. Lots of ducks and geese here so it makes for a great place to take lots of pictures! There is a mile-long walk to the pier from the Bluff/Lakeside camping areas. The park offers cabins and cottages as well. Fair Haven Beach State Park offers some of the most spectacular sunsets of any park in NY state. There's something here for everyone. You may wish to check out Chimney Bluffs and Fort Ontario while you're here visiting as well!

If your traveling with a TT do not get site 400 or any adjoining sites in the Drumlin area. The sites are VERY unlevel and you have to back down into them while backing up a steep hill. Beautiful wooded area of the CG. No hook-ups in this area but electric is available in the Bluff area which we drove thru, those sites are nice and level. This area of the CP has a nice walk/bike ride to the beach. Excellent location if attending the Renaissance Festival in Sterling.
