This place is a National Forest Gem!! Very remote setting, great sites with good spacing in between, will accomodate larger units. Lower loops are flat, perfect for small kids on bikes. Plenty to do if you are into hiking, fishing and spending quality time with family. Hot showers and dumpstation, No Hookups. Picture was taken from the top of Pickins Nose Mtn(no kidding) located near the cg.

This is a Nantahala Nat'l Forest C/G and is got to be one of their very best. Remote, back into the mountains, yet less than twenty miles to Franklin, NC. There are three loops. The Nantahala River runs right through the C/G, with Kimsey Creek joining the river right in the middle. Great wading for the kids (cold water!) and trout fishing can be good. These are "wild trout waters", meaning they are not hatchery supported; in other words, they are wild trout living naturally. Beautiful, easy river to fish, but hard to take fish out of ... real wary trout!

This has got to be one of the prettiest campgrounds in the entire Southern Appalachian mountains area. High elevation makes it a very serene spot in the heat of Summer. A nice stream runs thru the place and you can get sunny or shady spots. No full hook ups but water is available at different spots and they also have showers and bath facilities. Go here once and you'll keep coming back. A 10+ athe scale of best parks.
