I traveled from clw. fla to go camping at fort mountain,I would do it agian. I think Ga. has the best state parks, better than fl.the mountains and the fishing is great! I especially liked chatsworth.

Great park! The staff is very nice and helpful. Sites are well kept. Bath houses are clean. The view is great. Lots of trails to explore. Fishing is not the greatest but still better than not fishing.

The park was beautiful and had a beautiful scenery. The water was really nice. They have different activities you can do which is fun if you have a family. We went hiking with the family and loved it. This is a wonderful park. Stayed in a 5th wheel.

The park is a beautiful park. The water area is exceptional and there is plenty of hiking and other activities that's great for the family. My only complaint is that in my opinion the sites are NOT big enough...or I should say that I didn't feel that they were private enough. If you're a tent camper, prepare to be camping with your neighbors.

This is one of our favorite campgrounds; we've been there several times. Beautiful mountain setting, lots of wildlife, very secluded and quite. Best times, smallest crowds are early Spring and late Fall.

Top notch park. We camped after leaves had changed and the colors were amazing. The overlooks to the mountain ranges were the best I have seen. They have grey water dump spots in several locations. I Highly recomend. I would love to go back as soon as I get enough nerve to pull a TT thru Atlanta again. If you come in on the east side from Elijay be prepaird for a steep climb and lots of tight curves. If you come in from Dalton on the west side it's not too bad but the park sets up almost on top the mountain so its still a fair climb. I came in from the Elijay side and was white knuckled when I got there.

Nice place to stay. Nice gravel level site with H2O, pwr and cable hookups. Bath houses were modern and cleaned daily with hot water. Picnic tables and fire rings and very shady. This will be our weekend getaway close to home.

We got lucky, we had the entire campground to ourselves! The bath houses were brand new and clean. The pads and surrounding areas were well kept. The rangers were friendly but not intrusive/nosy. I have been all over the Blue Ridge Mountains and the views in this state park can hardly be rivaled. As a backpacker before RVer, I have never seen such nice, varied, or scenic hiking trails ever eminate from a State Park. If you have a Mountain Bike, be sure and bring it as well. We ended our stay with a horseback ride from the local stable. I have done many of these "follow the horse in front of you" trail rides but this ride was actually VERY scenic. I would highly recomend it.
