Would never stay here again. No rules. Freeforall. A lot of drunk people yelling and screaming 3:00 in the morning.

First let me say that the campground looks nothing like the pictures on the computer. The miniature golf was a run down- super mini- miniature golf. The playground in the picture is accurate and there is nothing more at all to it. This was a multi-family vacation that I booked after reviewing the website and speaking to Fran the owner myself. She seemed super nice and accomodating. We got a rustic cabin and 2 tent sights right next to it (I was told). After driving 3 and a half hours to get there we were told the tent sights were destroyed by a tornado and unuseable and we were moved down the street from the cabin. What is the point in having a multi family vacation if you are not together. We even called in the morning to confirm the sites and Fran said everything was good. When we got there and tried to check in she said that it was not her obligation to tell us of the sight change in the morning. Needless to say we did not stay there. We were not given a refund and I have to say that for an owner of a campground she has not compassion or respect for her campers.

Property is pretty, nice lake. Not well cared for, pool had peeling paint, bathrooms were dirty. Biggest problem seemed to be no rules. Lots of drinking, partying mainly by seasonal campers (and there are plenty of them). Kids unsupervised everywhere. 4th of July fireworks over the lake would have been nice if there weren't so many people yelling profanities that echoed throughout the campground. Sites on the lake are nice and large but the rest were on top of each other and the hill section is not meant for larger campers. While we did not have a problem with the owner we did witness a problem with her and another camper. That alone was a major turnoff for us. We'll camp elsewhere.

I Really like this campground. I only gave it a "4" because it is not one of those places that is overpriced and overdone (like you see on the travel magazine covers). It is out of the way and fairly secluded. The facilities are pretty good, especially the store and free internet access in the rec. hall. Overall, it is a good mix of untouched nature, rustic appeal, and modern convenience. The lakefront is beautiful.
