We stayed there in February of 2012, but this form does not allow me to any 2012 dates into the"date of stay. This was our first time to this campground. We have 2 children and enjoyed this campground very much. Our campsite was lake front and right near a walking dock. The view was great and kids love playing in the grass area next to our campsite and on the dock. The campsite was clean. There was not a fire ring but an area on the grass has ben used for campfires. The bath house was not far away but far enough. The showers were clean, but the water constantly leaked out from both showerheads at a pretty good rate. So, they need a little maintenance and the floors were wet from the leaking. Overall, a real nice campground for families and those without children.

Forgot the site #, was one of the first upon entering the park..One of the nicer State Parks we have stayed at and the price was one of the cheapest, especially considering it was FHU. If I were full-timing I could very easily spend the winter here rather than go on to the coast. Terrific place close to shopping and not too far from the Coast.

We were there for 4 days. We camped there in the mid to late 1980's with our 3 children and it was just a great as we remembered and even better because they now have FHU's. Easy access, clean park and very friendly park employees. Still see some effects from Katrina but they have done a great job getting it back in shape. The only drawback was our site was next to playground and fishing pier which gave us a lot of foot traffic around and thru our campsite. Was great with the kids but we'll get a different one next time for 'old folks' and save 16 for families with young kids like we used to be. Also had 2 dogs with us and it will give them a quiter experience away from a lot of people and the geese that hung out in that area. Go up the road about 5 miles to Camp Shelby and visit the Military Museum. It was great. I went to summer camp there and week-end drills in the 60's, 70's & 80's and it has changed a lot. The Museum documents a lot of the Camp's history as well as over 200 years of military istory.
