Camp sites in the electric area are close like condo camping (would only consider 22e). Biking/hiking trails were great. After the 5 mile bike ride to the beach we were very let down. The small, murky water lake with floating scum patches could hardly be considered a lake/beach in my opinion. With all the awesome lakes in MN considering this a lake is horrible. Ask the ranger what was up w/the lake - was it just this time of year(Sept)? Reply was, no always like this, the man made trenched out lake has been filling back in over the years. I think amenities list for this park s/b updated to remove swimming as an option-very misleading.

Our site was in the Riverview loop, site 33. We were at an end and it was a large space. However, our campfire was close to the camper next to us and their camper, table and fire faced ours. I felt a little uncomfortable with that setup. Our kids wouldn't spend much time outside the camper because of the bugs. I had gathered ticks just walking to the bathroom. There were only two showers available to our loop. We all enjoyed the trails, biking and the beach. We drove around the park and discovered the fire tower. That was C O O L ! ! Loved that.

This park is beautiful, with hiking trails, canoe rentals, and fishing streams. Our stay here was enjoyable. The park is well managed and clean. It sets in a deep, dense area. Some sites are very private and others are open. Our favorite was laying in the middle of a field and looking up into the clear night sky. The stars were vividly bright.
