Well, when we arrived at the campground we decided not to stay. We are tent campers from New York. The sites we booked were described by the campground as the most desirable. The fact was that they were nothing more than a strip of grass, albeit next to the river, but right up against the neighboring sites and the road with no privacy. The sites up on the hill looked better with more privacy and trees, but not great. We were able to get tent sites at the Campers Paradise campground just outside the park and were very satisfied. I hope this helps. I don't think I am picky, but the lack of privacy and close quarters seems to be common in PA state campgrounds(I've camped at Locust Lake and Gifford Pinchot).

This park is a hidden jewel. We have stayed there 2 times, once on site 38 and once on site 40. There are 30 sites with Electric hook-ups and 23 dry camping sites. There are 15 sites that are right next to the Clarion river. They have nature "classes" for the kids that are run by park Rangers after dinner on some nights. The Ranger even makes the rounds to all the sites with a wagon filled with outdoor info. and crafts for the kids. The scenery is spectacular and the fishing is very good. Deer came right through our camps at night both times we camped there. This is a park that you will want to return to.
