an awful lot of upgrades since we last stayed here. This is a fishing and sightseeing destination, not a koa type campground. We found that the bath houses were very clean and well maintained and the fishing was great. An awful lot of sightseeing nearby as well, wonderful hiking trails and Amicalola Fall within 10 min drive

Diamond Lure was a huge dissapointment. I could only find one review online prior to our visit there which said it was very friendly and had many activities onsite. Unfortunately, none of that turned out to be true. This campground is actually a mobile home park. We were the only campers there for the weekend, all the other sites were used as a permanent residence. And the available sites were, of course, the not-so-great ones. Our site was very cramped with woods on one side and a huge slope on the other which had the road right at the bottom. We had no room for chairs and could barely extend the awning. There was no room for the kids to play as the road was right there. We expected to be able to park and enjoy ourselves but were very dissapointed when we found that we had to leave the campground for any entertainment and really even to relax. The bathrooms left a lot to be desired with saturated indoor/outdoor carpet that stunk of mold and mildew. There were large holes in the walls around the plumbing. If we had known going there what we were getting into, we might not have thought so badly about it. But the one review said it was a great place, so I wanted to prepare anyone else headed there for what you would really find. The permanent residents were not very inviting and we felt like we were invading their space. It was very uncomfortable and I wanted to leave after the first night. We stayed the whole weekend but we will not ever return.
