We spent the 4th of July weekend at this campground. We were on a site right by the mini golf course. There are a lot of things to do at the campground. They offer family movie night on Saturday night and hot dogs on Saturday afternoons. There were a lot of people there as it was a holiday and the sites are very close. There is a lot of shade in some of the sites. We were told that we would be charged to have our family come to visit with us at the site, however we didn't go to the office to pay when they stopped by. The campground is behind an "industrial" area, but it is safe and somewhat clean. Most of the places in front are RV and boat repair shops. There is a Publix down the street. It's about a 10 minute ride to the beach. My family and I spent a lot of time using the bike path which is right out side the entrance to the campground. Overall, we had a good experience and we will be staying at this KOA again over 4th of July weekend in 2009.

Unfortunately, only a few campgrounds of any quality remain in this area. Although mostly clean and staffed by friendly people, this KOA is vastly overpriced. Its located behind a 'scary' industrial area. There are some full time campers who don't keep up their sites. Of course, in KOA fashion, the sites are packed together. It would be overpriced at $30 and it costs over $60 during peak season. I'd avoid it if at all possible and stay at nearby Fort Desoto campground in Tierra Verde, FL.
