The park was absolutely beautiful. The host was very friendly and helpful, and the showers were warm and clean.

This is a beautiful wooded state park about 40 minutes west of St. Louis. All the campsites have level concrete pads, fire rings, and picnic tables. The campsites are large and roomy. The bathroom/shower facility is spotless. The park has a swimming pool, nature center, and horseback riding/hiking trails. The park is gated. Campers are given an access code for re-entry after closing. This is a wonderful place to camp. Reservations are necessary because this campground is almost always full, especially on weekends.

I cant say I've camped here but I drove through twice to get a good look at the place. The restrooms were newly remodeled and look great, clean. The sites are paved and pretty level. Also the sites have nice thick green grass all around. The sites are spacious. Not to many electric sites in this park and they book up quick according to missouri state park reservation website. They have a paved walking trail and numerous wooded trails. As well as a nice pool, and seperate kiddy pool. The playground and pool are not exactly within walking distance, I think they are within 2 miles though. They close the gates at night, no one gets in or out after a certain time. Im not sure what happens if they got an emergency? I Gave this park a rating of 4 based on the looks and reviews of other campers that Ive heard from.
