This is a GREAT campground. Beautiful beach, beautiful natural setting with lush plams and tropical vegitation. Lots of turtles, birds and racoons (really crafty ones!). Keep you cooler lid secured at night. It's not a paved, pre-leveled, patio with furniture, kind of place. The sites are coquina sand, in the middle of a lush tropical forest. Really natural and beautiful, huge sites. Staff was super friendly and very helpful. Check in was great. Will absolutely stay here again

This was our first time at this campground. We were in site 123 nice deep site and we had plenty of side room to use as well, we have a 36 ft MH with slides on both sides. Sites all have 20/30 amp and water h/u. Fire rings with grills attached and a picnic table on each site. Sites were either sandy or some gravel. Plenty of shade and vegetation. Playgrounds need updated, all of them had only 2 baby swings and 2 regular swings, nothing else. Bathhouses were clean but old. Plenty of hot water when we used them. Bugs were out in full force but that is FL in the summer. Beach was very clean and had lifeguards. You could bike or take a car to beach. Board walk from parking lot took about 5 minutes to water. Beach not very crowded in state park area on weekend. Public access further down at pier. Park had rental concessionaires for canoes, kayaks, windsurfing, surfboards, boogie boards, etc. Small store on premises (ice cream), and snack shop next door. WiFi offered at Island Joe's as well as pay phone modem. No wait at dump station as they have a triple access to dump. There is also a farmer's market on Saturday's at the St. Augustine Amphitheater at 8:30 am on A1A. They also show the play Cross and Sword every night. We will be back again.

Beautiful park... all sites are terrific. There is a large buffer between them and each is a tiny little different configuration with a little area not only on your side, but back into the woods. Couldn't see another camper on most any site. A very short drive to a beautiful beach. It is hilly (ancient sand dunes) and a short drive into St. Augustine, a fascinating city. We will go back to spend more time.

This is one of the nicest state parks that I have stayed at in Florida. The park is about 2 miles from downtown St. Augustine, and provides easy access. There are a lot of things to see and do in the area. St. Augustine itself is a beautiful and historic city. The park had very nice, private campsites. There were a couple here and there that were somewhat close to their neighbors, but overall, they were nicely isolated. A few of the sites were not very deep because of some natural terrain features behind them but if you book through Reserve America, they tell you what the size of the site is. All sites had nice shade. The restrooms and other facilities were kept very clean and were in nice shape. The beach area is not too far from the campsites. You could ride a bike or walk, howerver there is also a large parking lot at the beach area. The only downside to this park may be that during the summer, the beach area could be quite crowded during the day, and access to the park might be a little more challenging as people are trying to come to the beach. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, but that might change a little during those busy summer months when all of the extra guests get on their nerves. We had a wonderful stay here, and I would highly recommend this campground to anyone!
