A lovely campground...only a few of us there, but the spaces are wooded and pretty private. Beautiful trails for hiking. Nice place to get away ~ Did hear faint traffic, but did not bother us.

This campging area in Marengo Ridge Conservation Area is called Thomas Woods. There are 18 RV sites and 11 tent sites. Two of the RV sites have electricity (one being a handicapped site) but otherwise all of the sites are primitive. The campground overall is very wooded and the sites are very well spread out. There are no flush toilets, but several clean pit toilets throughout the campground. We enjoyed our stay here in our pop-up. It is a great close getaway for one or two nights and close to home. There are several trails throughout the park, including a lovely overlook from the top of a ridge looking south over a prairie area. Really lovely with lots of birds, including an indigo bunting I saw. Only complaint was that you could hear some traffic noice from Route 23, which doesn't make for as peaceful as an experience as you would like.
