Well maintained and nice campground. No much luxury there, but the camping lots have a fire ring with grill and are clean. The lake is very nice and quiet, although we fished without any success. Boats or canoes can be rented during high season. Unfortunately, the campground gets really crowded during high season and there will be not a lot of privacy. Also, the noise from the close-by Garden Parkway is omnipresent. All in all, we liked our stay and were happy that we went during off season.

We have stayed here multiple times in the past. There are no hookups so dry-camping is your only choice. The sites are varied, some very private, some nice when camping with other families. There is a very nice lake available (between Memorial day and Labor Day)with a large sandy beach area, large picnic areas and playground. The bathrooms were very dated. They were cleaned daily but due to the constant humidity and heat they always seemed "wet". Both sides have a large bath-house with 4-5 showers (lots of hot water available), and also multiple restroom areas on each side. I checked these out and felt these small ones all seemed to have less upkeep than the larger ones (but we use our TT bathroom so this was not really a problem for us). The park really is a nice, quiet state forest that is great for a quiet getaway. We love relaxing at the lake and walking the trails it offers. We will return.

Nice campground but watch out for the ticks. Certain times of the year they are really bad.

Many sites that are wooded and not on top of the next campers. Didn't have any luck with fishing. Beach was clean and activities were available. Not far from Smithville, Basto Village and Atlantic City is about 20-30 mins. depending on traffic. Campground was packed but rather quiet. Hot showers all the time and bathrooms were clean enough for a busy weekend.
