Great campground close to Ottawa. It's approximately 45 minute to downtown. The Ottawa River is nearby with two beaches. Although we don't swim in the Ottawa River due to frequent beach closures closer to downtown (mid-summer algae counts high), others seem to. For a campground close to Ottawa it's an out of the way stay.

We loved this camp ground. Our site was great, very private and clean. The staff was very friendly. This will become our regular camp ground

The campground itself was okay, good privacy, fair ground cover, lots of wildlife, birds etc.
The biggest shock (no pun intended)was the high voltage power lines and the huge power plant for our view. We almost packed up that same day to leave but I only had 3 days holidays. No where in any information or map made mention of this disappointing feature.

Pros: A new park for us since we normally venture farther from home. Fitzroy is about an hour away. Nice park overall.
Cons: Big lineup to get the camping permit. So we drove by and got our permit later. Dump station is again one lane and at Fitzroy the road can get plugged with trailers in the dump line. Shopping in the area is poor, especially for a decent selection of groceries.
