Campsite access was very good with adequate size pull throughs. Playground and swimming pools were nice for children; they even have a yard size chess game. Convenient driving to the Wilmington’s historic section and beaches. The campground is family oriented with more families than retired travelers. The campground is dog friendly with two fenced in dog areas they even provide doggie bag stations which are scattered throughout the park. Keep the broom handy there lots of sand to track in. Dirt roads and mostly dirt campsite with some grass. Each campsite had a fire ring which we did not use since we camped here in August when the temperatures reached 100 deg. I would stay here again.

This KOA is off U.S. 17 - Market Street, a very congested route - no matter what time you arrive. Nice size sites - wider than most KOAs we've been to. Good Gravel one-way interior roads and site pads are level provide you are centered. Nice trees throughout the CG - just a few 50 amp sites lack good shade (specifically - the row behind us). The place was packed and it was a hot weekend. We used our 2 A/C's the whole time with no problem. WiFi worked fine - even though signal was "low". $48/night with our KOA Value Kard for water, 50 amp, sewer, cable, free WiFi. A nice CG reasonably close to all the things to do in this city. Many antique stores downtown and the North Carolina Battleship just minutes away. Large RV Wash building near entrance. Pics l-r 1st 2 - our site (58), 3rd - a view of the 50 amp sites from distance and last - the large RV Wash area.
