I would highly recommend this park to anyone. The new owners go out of the way to make each person feel very welcome. Absolutely beautiful park....

A pleasant surprise. Civil war history abounds, and an easy commute to D.C. Clean, friendly, peaceful, can't say enough.

This is a KOA, so we didn\t expect the beauty of a more backcountry campground. It is also going through a reconstruction of the campstore and bathroom/shower facilities after a fire. They are supposed to be completed sometime during the winter (2005). The bathroom facilities that are located in a large trailer were fine though and were kept very clean during the time we were there. the laundry area was clean, the store was fairly well stocked, but there is a Walmart Supercenter located within a few miles for anything you could need. This September weekend the campground was more than half empty. Some sites are very, very close to each other and some unbelievably close to the camping cabins. Some sites have a good deal of room. It really varies but even though they assign you a site when you make a reservation, they will let you change your site if you don\'t like it and something better is available. They have a small, clean, heated pool and a fishing pond with pedal boats, and free cable tv. They have everything from sites with no hookups to sites with full hookups and 30-50 amps. Our biggest complaint was many sites had no firerings or grills at all. You were allowed to have a fire, but if you didn\'t bring your own firering it was right on the ground. The best thing about this campground is it\'s a decent place to stay when visiting the DC area. You can have your full hookups and a free shuttle ride to the area train to avoind driving in to DC. There are also many other interesting areas to visit and the location is great for it's convenience to many things to do.
