I write only to agree completely with the previous posts. We live nearby and come here when we can, just to "get away". The only disappointment is the absence of fire pits although there is a community pit for campers to gather at in the evening. Outdoor BBQ grills are not allowed either. Most sites are fairly level and paved roads circle the park. We see big rigs as well as tenters (in their own section). Beaching, biking, and fishing as well as the beauty of Cape Cod are at your doorstep here. Enjoy!

We love this campground because it is nice for quick weekend getaways. Biking the canal or fishing is how we spend most of our time here. In the summer we also like the beach. Sites are w,e with a dump station at the enterance. Make sure you have a long water hose, some sites are far fron the spickets. Bathrooms are clean but dated. No campfires are allowed in the RV section.

We love this campground. It is on the Cape Cod Canal and a beautiful (in the summer time) beach. Most of the wide open sites are in the front two streets closest to the beach and the separate safari area. We were in a site on the third road , number 61, which is a very nice site. It is well separated with trees and shrubs, twenty-five feet to the water tap and 15 feet to the 30 Amp electrical service. We utilized Reserve America to make our reservation, they charge $9.50 for the service. The site's cost is $20 for the night with water and 30 amp electric. We travel with two teenage sons, who went fishing, walked the beach and in general had a great time. It rained very very hard on Saturday night and we walked thru much of the campground and only a couple of low sites had standing water. Ours, and all the sites near us, were high and dry. The entry road is a bit rough but after some thought, we decided that we liked it because it slows traffic down. The road was not rough enough to do any damage. The dump station is only open in the morning but there was no line and plenty of room , no tight turns involved. All in all a great campground.

It isn't fancy, but we love the location of Scusset Beach State Park. It has both beach and canal access....and there is a great bike/walking path along the canal.... Sites are reservable through reserve america and are water/electric....despite the Reserve America site saying "electric"....bring 50' of water hose!!!!!!! Reservations are taken 6 months in advance and it books FAST.
