Clean, quiet, well kept campground. I didnt visit any restroom or showerhouse, but I heard they were nice as well. The site we had was overlooking the lake, and it was probably the best view ive ever had for a campground in Carlyle. There are only about 80 sites in the campground, and if you use reserveusa.com, the map is pretty accurate to pick yourself a good site. I must say that there were way to many bugs and even more Fly's though. I know, u expect bugs when camping in 90 degree weather, but seriously, this was too much. I imagine that someone before us was cleaning fish on the site because of a few fishy remains, but nothing big. Never had a bug problem at the state park across the lake. When i reserved my sirte online, it said the site was paved, but Im pretty sure that all the sites there are gravel, mine was. The drive to town is 15 miles, if you need anything. There is a beach for $1 per person located at coles creek camp just a few mintues away in a car. Also, make sure you bring a long hose if you need to fill your water tank before backing into your site. There are about 4 water pumps throught the camp, but they arent convenient to get to. There is one dumpsite also. I would stay here again for sure.

Received from Mike for visit in May 2006
