This is a beautiful campground. Not kid friendly. If you have small kids, I do not recommend it. We will not stay here again. The owners are very 'snooty' and not very helpful with 'their' problems. Our picnic table was missing a bracket and the seats swayed. The owners noticed it upon nightly inspection and said we could switch with another site. This picnic table weighed a ton and my husband and I could not move it. It would have been nice for them to offer some 'help'. We had some local family come for a few hours to visit. They checked in and was told they would not have to pay a fee. Upon checking out today, we had to pay an additional $37.50. I think that is way too much. The rule sheet we were given upon checking in did not state this at all. In fact, it said campers visitors are welcome. It does not list a time limit nor an additional fee. They stayed approximatly 3 hours. The owners watch you like a hawk so we felt like we had no privacy. The campsites are wayy too close. In

This is a small park at the base of the Appalachian Mountains - 5 miles from the Blue Ridge Parkway. There is a beautiful stream that runs around 2/3rds of the park. Several sites along the stream are tight. We had adequate (not great) space patio side - but our neighbors on the opposite side - way too close. They could not put out their awning. Sites not on the stream are wider, but you back up to the road which is higher than your RV. The last 5 miles to this park is a little scary. Very narrow - several tight twists & blind turns. Watch for motorcycles - they drive too fast on this road. The driveway into this park - is steep - but don't miss it! The road past this park is worse than the 1st 5 miles - too dangerous for an RV. We paid $31/night for a double stream spot meaning we were close to the bend in the stream. This price was w/Good Sam discount - for water, 50 amp, sewer, no cable but free WiFi. Wifi worked perfectly. Satellite works depending on your location. The stream is unbelievable. You can hear it everywhere in the park so when you are right on it - it's amazing. Be sure to ask the owners about a site that meets your needs -- they are very accomodating - they simply had nothing else to offer us this particular weekend. Site 14 would be our pick - if we were to return. First 3 pictures below of/from site 19. Last picture of sites 14 and 13. Left to right.Site 13 w/popup has large natural area patio side - but not deep. Site 14 would likely have no satelitte problems. Potluck every Saturday night w/music. Wonderful people.
