The people are extremely nice. The indoor pool is great for bad weather. We camp hear at least 3 times a year. there is so much for the kids to do. It is a veery family oriented place.

The bathrooms were dirty, dumpsters were spilling over and in full sight, staff was unpleasant, outdoor pool closed at 5:00 in June and indoor pool closed at 8:00 and not as clean and attractive as pictured on website, pets not cleaned up after. We were extremely dissapointed.

Stayed here several times along with a few other folks we know. We found the staff to be rude and the rangers to be a tad overzealous. Last time we went we pulled in and were greeted by a woman waving her arms & yelling...I do mean yelling and having a bloody fit that we didn't stop exactly when she wanted us to. We thought it best to stop after the rear end of our trailer was off the main road. They really don't care about customer service as they are always crowded & seem to think it's okay to treat people like garbage. The ranger needs a vacation as he is a bit tightly wound. Perhaps he could patrol a bit more so we won't have a repeat of our cooler being stolen and tossed in the lake. Nice lake, surroundings.

Nice camp ground, but one of the more expensive ones. Over $50 a night! There really wasn't a reason for the high price. Just your average campground. Bathrooms were dirty. We just used our campers, so that didn't really bother us, but worth to note. Our site was great. Even and wide. We had the lake right behind us and could fish all day long from our site. We did some of the activities and they were all good. Campground has no restaurant only snack type foods and your staples like milk, bread, eggs.

We have camped at Otter Lake many times both in winter and every other season of the year. Yes, it can be crowded, but it seems to handle crowds better than most campgrounds. The sites are not so close together that you would be on top of your neighbor in any part of the campground. There is a significant seasonal population but they are friendly and helpful. The lake is great. There are paddle boats and canoes that can be rented for a nominal fee and the lake beach is sandy and fun. There is an outdoor pool up by the store and office that can get crowded in the heat of the summer - then go to the lake! The indoor pool is great in the off season and the adult only hot tub can be used for another small fee, unless they changed that. They even used to supply towels in the winter! One of the things we liked most about the CG was the individual shower rooms. They have gang bathhouses but the showers are separate and large enough to be very comfortable. The hot water was hot too! Organized activities for every age group - including ceramics!!! Every age group will easily be able to find much to do. The only possible drawback might be the trip up the mountain to the campground. It is about 7 miles long and twists and turns all the way up. Get what you need before you make the trek. There is a shopping center right at the bottom where you make the turn to start the climb. There is a great flea market, open weekends, about 5 miles north (be prepared for terrible traffic when it's open) and Bushkill Falls in a short hop north as well. In short, it's a great destination in itself and there is much to do in the area. Our family loves Otter Lake and I recommend it to anyone visiting the southern Pocono area.

We have been here many times until they changed their 5 day rule on certain weekends. You have to pay for 5 nights even though most people can only stay 4. When I asked the owners wife about that, she said,"well, we only have a certain time to make our money so that is one of the ways". I didn't go back.
