This should remain an RV park, NOT a campground. While my children slept through the night, my wife and I were kept awake on the first night by drunken neighbors and on the second night by neighbors who played a cat and mouse game with KOA staff on their two-stroke vespa, buzzing around the campground from about 12:00 midnight to 3 am! Imagine what the campground would be like if it was busy! The campsite was VERY expensive considering the lack of security.

We have been staying with the KOA Sugarloaf folks for the past 6yrs during 2 weeks of April. We will again travel to Key West and stay at Sugarloaf KOA in Aprial of 2009. The campgroud is pricey, but well kept. The staff is very helpful and friendly. Kids love the pool, beach and the fishing is excellent. Key West has a number of beaches to spend the day in the sun and warm waters. Shopping and site seeing in down town Key West with the family will keep everyone entertained. Nightlife on Duval st. is crazy and fun for all. I would recommend KOA Sugarloaf in Key West. B&K from Rochester, NY

I stayed here in 2004. Things are close together and there were some bigs rigs there. It's an ok place with a nice rec. building and they had nightly things to do, dance, etc. There is a small sandy beach and they have a shuttle that takes you into Key West which was handy since parking would of been a problem. The town was packed with people.

We were at Sugarloaf Key KOA for 4 nights in Aprril 2006. We were also there between Christmas and New Years 2005 earlier this year. It was absolutely full during that time. There was a huge difference earlier this month. The campground looked about half full. We have a 40' coach and had plenty of room. The kids really enjoy the pool and the little beach. The icing on the cake though was the water toys they have anchored off the beach. The kids loved the water trampoline and the totter thing. They also usually have one of those icebergs but it sprang a leak and was out of the water being fixed. I wouldn't complain too much about any campground in the Keys though since at the rate they are being converted into condo complexes there won't be any left after awhile except the state parks. Just being able to camp in the Keys is a wonderful thing. I think you'll enjoy your stay there, we did.
