just found this website and decided to look at the reviews for the friendly beaver. i am shocked at the bad reviews. my family and i have stayed here many times and have always felt welcome by the staff and seasonal campers. i have stayed at many other campgrounds over the last few years and always find myself comparing them to the friendly beaver. the pools and kids activities are great, there are also adult activities, and they do a great job with marti gras, luau, and halloween weekends. cant wait to go camping there for years to come.

I must say, I was very surprised to be reading some of the previous posts, but then realized some of them are very old…I think it’s time for some up-to-date reviews. I began camping here in 2009 and I’m now going into my third season…like many, I camp all year round and enjoy the winters snowmobiling...Yes, I’m a seasonal camper and yes, I have a golf cart. However, I think it’s very important to understand that the seasonal campers are such a big part of the Friendly Beaver Family. We come from all walks of life, but when at camp, everyone gets along and everyone supports each other and supports the campground…we are one big family! Yes, many of us have golf carts, but 99% of us are very responsible while driving them around. The campground has a strict 5 mph speed limit for both cars/trucks and golf carts…in the event someone is tagged going too fast, they’re given a ticket and the money collected goes towards the kid’s activities fund! Many of the signature activities that entertain all campers, such as the Halloween Haunted House and Hay Rides, Mardi Gras or 4th of July parades are all possible due to the many campers who get involved and volunteer their time…we even transported 30 golf carts downtown to participate in the New Boston July 4th parade…what other campground do you know that would do that and has that kind of support from their campers? We are very open and considerate to transient campers. Yes, there may be some campers who aren’t always as friendly and considerate, but having experienced many other campgrounds over the years as a transient and seasonal camper, I can say Friendly Beaver is tops at being a family/camper-friendly campground…and it’s evident by the fact that they are booked solid most of the time! It’s not possible for any campground to satisfy every camper all the time, but I think Friendly Beaver does an awesome job! Being part of that campground family is what keeps me coming back! Please don’t be scared away by a couple of negative reviews that aren’t all recent…come try it for yourself!

My stay was in Aug. 2008 for one full week) I will begin my review by stating that this is not a campground for young children. The campground is infested with golfcarts piloted by drunk and or careleless people(at the time there were some sites that had 4 or 5 of them). I arrived at the campground and got out of our vehicle only to have to jump back in to avoid being run down by an ill tempered person flying into a parking space. I couldn't even take a walk with my 1 year old without having to keep her in the stroller or carry her. She was almost hit TWICE, once by a golf cart and once by a terrible child who was one of the seasonals. He was apparently known to target young children and TRY to run them down on his bike!!! I will admit that the office was well aware of this childs behavior and promptly addressed the issue, they also stated that the golf cart policy was changing to limit the number of carts a site could have. The pool area and activities are wonderful for older children and adults. I just don't feel safe there with young children. The golf carts are definitely a BIG problem.

Great place if you like the smell of smoke and the look of cigarette butts. Also, if you drink and drive a golf cart really fast with your children in the back, this is the place for you. You might also like the drunk tenters singing all night. The showers are wonderful, just don't step on all the bug families that live there. And they never clean them so they are always available. Stay home if you don't have a tatoo or have all your teeth.

Made reservations for 3 way site, 2 adults 2 kids, one dog. Arrived at about 7:30pm 4-21. Found site unlevel and required the use of 12 linx levelers to bring the camper to near level. Found that the site had no power due to a problem with the outlet. Additionally no sewer hook-up. Apparently I had a new person that made the reservations and neglected to tell me of the standing rule of 3 way sites not being offered to"weekenders" but only seasonals. was moved to site 298. site was level and roomy 2 way only. Campground has two outdoor pools, one indoor pool, small hot tub and good recreational facilities for the kids. Additionally a good sized store on site. Fishing nearby with scenic areas. Was not overly impressed with the atmosphere of the campground.
