We had site #11, close to the water. Excellent mountain views along with the great lake views. I found the campground very quiet, no loud parties or screaming children. Nice family atmosphere. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Regular patrols in the evening, checking on campers if everything was ok.Open sites but some space between you and your neighbor. No individual campfire rings, just a community campfire ring. Rangers brought wood to the campfire ring every afternoon. No need to bring/buy wood.

The state park is in a scenic location and lies on the shores of lake Winnepesaukie. During the summer months one can set up a chair at the waters edge and watch the boats come and go. Sandy beach swimming. Crowds of people from a public area adjacent migrate into the campground area near the water quickly crowding the area in the peak summer months. There is a bathhouse there that is used by everyone in the area. Love the location but way to public and not woodsy enough for us.
