The sites are adequate and in section "k" we had an open field area behind us. A major upgrade that is needed are paved road in the park. The management has lots of rules and seem tired and loud. The pool was cool and should be heated a bit more to feel comfortable. They have a small hot tub that fits 3. It is locked up and you have to have a key to use it, so it can only be used when the office is open. The owner always put chemicals in during the day and shuts it down for periods of time, so don't plan on using it much. There is plenty of activities for the kids to do. Ice cream social, mini golf, arcade and a fire truck ride too. I wouldn't recommend it for small children because the fire truck was blaring their horn up until 9pm making campers frustrated. The place was clean but water logged because of the New England summer this year. This is a dog friendly park. The firewood price is reasonable at $4.00 a bundle and the gift shop is not over priced either. We had a good time at this campground and would recommend it.

The comments made by the previous review are mine exactly. The only improvement would be a paved entrance way into the campground as the entrance is an uphill grade. The paved entrance way would eliminate the rough dirt and stone driveway and would add to the appearance and appeal.

This is a nice campground! Very friendly, chatty helpful owners. Skowhegan/Canaan KOA is one of the cleanest campgrounds we have ever been to. Ice and wood are delivered right to your campsite. Since the new owners took over the campground a few years back, there have been many improvements made to the park. This is a great place for kids and adults a lot of fun planned activities!
