This trailer park was a very different experience. As we pulled in a large sign indicated that you pull in, stay in your trailer, and wait for someone to show you your site. Within 5 mins after pulling in a nice young man came up to us, and indicated what row we should go down and he would meet us there. We did and when he showed us our site, he told us to come up to the office anytime after 5 p.m. and he would sign us in, and also, that they served dinner at the restaurant after 5 p.m. OK. So at a little after 5 p.m. we went up to the office and tried to pay. They asked us if we were going to have dinner. We indicated yes, so they said go ahead and eat and take care of the price of both afterwards. We had dinner, which included a choice of BBQ beef, ham or fried chicken, along with potato salad, cole slaw, beans, potato wedges and a piece of buttered bread, including either ice tea or coffee for $5.00 per person. After we ate, we went over to the office to pay for dinner and our camping fees. The man in the office asked us how many days we wanted to stay. We told him probably about 3 or 4 days and that each of us had a dinner. He told us that he would keep a running balance and that we should stop by on the day we were leaving and pay him them. Bob looked at him and said "You're putting me on!" The guy said "No, that's the way we do it here". As we walked away Bob was still shaking his head and muttering to himself. After dinner at 7 p.m. we went to the rec hall for the park entertainment. They had a fellow who billed himself as "Almost Willie" who looked dead-on Willie Nelson. He did a 1/2 hr show, in which he sang Willie Nelson songs and played a guitar. It was a good show, especially considering there was no charge. 160 sites. 160 W, 129S, 160E. (30/50) AMENITIES:Restrooms and showers, public phone, laundry, ltd groceries, RV supplies, LP gas, food service, pond, freshwater fishing, pool, rec hall. Free mini golf. Picnic tables, and porch swings at each site. BBQ grills at some sites. Very nice. Lots of trees, flowers. Lots are level. Roads are not paved. The employees we met were very friendly and helpful. In all fairness it was early for the tourist season, and they were doing a lot of renovating, however the office was extremely dirty.

Received from Laura M for visit in Mar 2000
